Chirpers that dosen't get casted at puberty remains chirpers forever. I
originally thought that a chirper was just an unlucky droyne, and that
the offspring of any chirper could be casted if caught young enough. The
Old Traveller module _Alien Realms_ imply that it's more complicated than
that. Apparently there are two different types of chirpers: chirpers who
has lost the knowledge to caste, but can be casted if there is a drone
with a set of coyns around, and chirpers who have lost the ability to
caste entirely. In fact, _Alien Realms_ imply that most chirpers are of
the second kind and that finding a chirper colony of the first kind is
a rare and wonderful opportunity for droyne. Personally I ignore this and
regard all chirpers as potential droyne.

>>Again about Chirpers
Is it possible that when chirpers get offsprings and those offsprings go to
that ritual in which the cast is chosen, they could become Droyne? Or is it
that once chirper allway chirper?<<

It wasn't ever stated as far as I remember; I would have thought possibly 1-2
generations (not long for Droyne-Chirpers); shorter for exceptional
individuals
(after all, ol' grandfather is a splendid example of how to buck the
system..)
